SUMAFEST 2026 – Sustainable Minds in Action
Festival of Sustainability and Innovation
From 24 to 26 March 2026, the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) will transform into a hub of sustainability, innovation, and inspiration. The ECO Team VŠE presents the first edition of SUMAFEST 2026 – Sustainable Minds in Action, offering a diverse and interactive programme across the campus and beyond.
SUMAFEST connects students, academics, professionals, and the general public, showing that sustainability is not just a topic, but a mindset and a set of concrete actions.
What Awaits You at the Festival
You can look forward to presentations and activities prepared by individual sub-teams of the ECO Team VŠE, which focus long-term on areas such as:
- health and well-being and improving the VŠE campus environment,
- waste, energy, and water management,
- sustainable mobility,
- beekeeping on the roof of VŠE,
- responsible research with real societal impact.
The programme will be enriched by lectures, workshops, excursions, panel discussions, competitions, and networking opportunities with experts from both academic and professional environments.
Experiences and Hands-on Activities
SUMAFEST is not only about gaining information — we also place strong emphasis on experience and active participation. During the festival, you will have the opportunity to:
- take part in competitions with attractive prizes,
- plant your own tree,
- join a guided cycling tour around the Žižkov area,
- calculate your carbon footprint.
Partners, Inspiration, and Discussions
Partner organisations and sponsors of the ECO Team VŠE will present examples of best practices in sustainability and innovation. Together with prominent figures from the Czech Republic and sustainability trendsetters, we will focus on current societal and environmental challenges.
Practical Information
The detailed programme, including reservations for selected lectures, workshops, and panel discussions, will be published gradually through standard VŠE communication channels. The names of confirmed guests and registration links will be added on an ongoing basis.
Responsible Research with Impact | 26 March 2026
The festival will also include the international conference Responsible Research with Impact, focused on responsible research with real societal impact. Experts from the RRBM initiative and European universities will present the seven principles of responsible research, share examples of best practices, and participate in panel discussions and workshops designed for academics, PhD candidates, and faculty leadership.
The conference will be held in English.
